This week’s strip should serve as a learning tool for Homo-phobes…when someone offers you a drink and discloses their sexual orientation…DO NOT freak out. They’re being friendly…remember? Remember what friendly is? You can learn a lot from kids…I love living in the Bay Area because it’s so diverse…with many cultures milling around working towards a better tomorrow…and kids can show you the way. Just watch a group of preschoolers or even kids at the playground….they have no clue what race is…or what gay is…it’s awesome. I wish grown ups could do that again…we’d all be better off. With the on going Same Sex Marriage debate continuing across the country, I can’t help but wonder what could have been accomplished in the time it took for folks to ban same sex marriage….I love that people are so passionate about preventing two loving human beings for declaring their love for one another…but not so much for energy independence… If people want to pass laws like Prop 8, I think we ought to find something to level the field. Like it should be illegal for people to come to your door with religious pamphlets, and then continue to talk and press the issue after you’ve expressed no interest in what they’re saying…and it should also be against the law for that dude to stand atop his milk crate calling everyone at the Art & Wine festival a sinner…..If we have to tolerate THESE people, then there’s definitely a place in this world for same sex marriage….I mean who knows what’s right? Right? The thing I liked about doing this strip was how Victor’s concern was the free drink. Chicks get free shit all the time am I right?
