I hate portraits and will rarely do them unless I really like the person, they're a parody or cartoonish exaggeration. If you want your life-like portrait done I'd recommend http://www.vaughangallery.com/index.html or http://www.chuckhodi.net/
Chip is a good friend and really launched me into the Sacramento Art scene. I can not thank him enough for his generous support.
At the 1 year anniversary of my 1st show with him I gave it to him as a gift.
My uncle is Robert Graysmith, previous cartoonist for the SF Chronicle, writer of the book about the Zodiac Killer and portrayed in the movie. I did the Zodiac as part of my Designer Fakes series. Chuck Hodi is famous for serial killer art and this was my nod to him.
Elvis Lugosi is in no relation to Elvis Costello or Marylin Manson. I was working on an Elvis for a friend and he started looking like Bela Lugosi. Rather than fix it I kept it because I imagined him as their test tube lovechild. Part rockstar part vampire, certainly better than what's-his-name.
Beth Allen of Motley Art commissioned me for a portrait. That's her skull design in the background. She and I did many a show together in Benicia and bonded over strange fans.
Thomas Cicada is a parody of you know who. A popular piece at the 'Altered Ego' show at CoolCat Gallery. He is who I'd be if I pursued the safe and affluent path and painted crap I didn't care about.
Brutal was a commission for my friend Rachael who is madly in love with Danzig.
