About Mosquito and Spider
Birthed from drink and draw events - Mosquito and Spider is an anti-comic, it goes the opposite direction of readable dialogue, consistent forms, polished design, airbrushed color and all the things I think are wrong about comics today. In short it's a comic free-for all, anything goes, much like the word association exercise - rolling with the 1st thought and going with it wherever it takes you be it funny, stupid, sick, awkward or inside jokes that no one gets. The only censorship is in the eyes of the illustrator. Part American Splendor, part David Lynch and a whole lot of poop jokes in between.
Mosquitoes and spiders both sustain themselves by drinking so they're perfect models for the alcoholic jackasses you're reading about today |

The Characters:
Mosquito - My obvious alter ego. The Band-Aid on the head represents a perpetual hangover (hence a lot of his anger and irritation with everyone and everything). He's the angry stooge.
Spider - He's loosely based on my old Philippine co-worker Jun who worked in the mailroom and would say things like "This is Goddamn bullshit!", "You go take a shit!", and throw scissors at me. I miss him a lot. Spider is the innocent and also angry. |

Bill Shafer - Bill is a real person and one of my best friends as well as my Southern Californian representative at the Hyaena Gallery in Burbank, CA. I've been able to drink him under the table and get him to search for furry porn on the internet for me. You can find more about him and his gallery by clicking below: |
| Cowboy Howdy - He's a new character developed from a theory after not being able to crap for several days. I imagined my crap put on a cowboy hat and went on adventures while I slept completely unaware of it's double life. |
